Feature displays that draw a crowd

Custom displays, Santa sets, giant trees and animated light shows

Custom displays are the part of a commercial holiday program that people travel to see and photograph. We design and build Santa photo sets and mall villages for enclosed shopping centres, giant outdoor trees for plazas and town squares, lit sculptures and tunnels for atriums and animated pixel light shows synced to music for building facades and park pavilions, all from our own inventory.

Each display starts with the space and the crowd: where people enter, where the queue forms, where the photo gets taken and where the lift can set up overnight. Branded colour schemes are common, so a plaza's giant tree can carry the centre's colours and a hotel's entrance can match its brand standard without looking like a logo. We confirm colours on physical samples before anything is ordered.

Displays are built after hours with insured, WSIB-compliant crews, secured against tipping and wind, checked for clearances and exits, and put on timers. Maintenance is included for the season, which matters more for a display that thousands of people walk past each day than for anything else we install. January takedown and labelled storage are included. Everything we build is our own inventory, so we can warranty it.

What's included

Everything in a displays & light shows program

01

Santa photo sets

Log-cabin and village-style Santa sets for enclosed malls and large lobbies, with a seating area, backdrop, fencing for the queue, decorated trees and a photo podium. We design the sightline for the camera first, then build around it. Sets are modular so they fit the court you have and store flat in January.

02

Mall villages and centrepieces

Lit village displays, sleigh features, lit birch forests, reindeer sculptures and planter centrepieces for atriums and concourses. Pieces are weighted and secured against curious kids and cleaning carts, and nothing blocks a fire exit, a sprinkler or a storefront entrance. Installs run overnight so the court opens on time.

03

Giant outdoor trees

Giant cone trees and large pre-lit outdoor trees for plaza courtyards, town squares and campus entrances, with a star topper and a lit base. Trees are engineered for wind, staked or ballasted and set back from plow routes. They are built from a lift overnight and sit on their own circuit with a timer or photocell.

04

Animated pixel light shows

Pixel LED mega trees, facade outlines, snowflakes and star displays synced to music, programmed for your building. Shows run on a schedule you set, with a static look between shows so the property is never dark. We handle controllers, power and the programming, and we can add tracks or themes year to year.

05

Branded colour schemes

Trees, lighting, ribbon and displays matched to a brand standard or a centre's identity: a specific blue on a facade, a plaza's signature red on the giant tree, a hotel's warm-white-and-gold across the lobby and porte-cochère. We confirm colours against samples before ordering so what goes up is what was approved.

06

Tunnels, arches and photo moments

Walk-through light tunnels and garland arches for lobbies, parks and courtyards, placed where people naturally stop for a photo. Structures are rated for the span, anchored and lit on timers. For public spaces we design clear widths and exits with your security or events team so the crowd moves safely.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

  1. 1

    Concept and site review

We walk the court, square or facade with you between July and September, look at traffic flow, power, lift access and the camera angle, and propose a concept with sketches and reference photos from our own past builds.

  2. 2

    Design, approvals and scope

You receive a written scope with dimensions, colours, power requirements and the install plan, priced per season or multi-year. For public spaces we include what your security, events or insurance people need to sign off.

  3. 3

    Overnight build

Displays go up after hours, often over two or three nights for a mall set or a pixel show, with the area opened each morning. Lifts, ballast, controllers and timers are ours. We test the show end to end before launch.

  4. 4

    Season service and takedown

Maintenance is included at no charge all season. Shows are monitored and reprogrammed if you want a change. In January the display comes down, is inventoried and goes into labelled storage in our warehouse.

FAQ

Displays & Light Shows questions

How much does a mall Santa set or village display cost?
Custom displays are quoted from a site visit and a concept, so there is no list price. As a typical range, interior programs with themed displays run into five figures per season for atrium and mall work, and giant trees and pixel light shows for a plaza or campus are in the tens of thousands depending on size and show length. Leasing spreads that across seasons and includes service, takedown and storage. These are typical ranges, not quotes.
Can the display be built without closing the mall or the square?
Yes. We build overnight after close and open the area each morning, so a large Santa set or village is usually a two- or three-night job with the court usable in between. Outdoor giant trees and pixel shows are built from a lift at night with cones and a spotter for traffic. We coordinate with your security, cleaning crews and events team so there are no surprises on the overnight schedule.
How does an animated pixel light show work?
Pixel LED fixtures, such as a mega tree, facade outlines, snowflakes and stars, are wired to a controller that plays a programmed sequence synced to music. You choose the show schedule, for example every half hour from dusk to close, and the fixtures hold a static colour look between shows so the building is never dark. We supply and program the controllers, handle power and can add songs or themes year to year.
Can the display match our brand colours?
Yes. We match lighting, ribbon, ornaments and display finishes to a brand standard or a centre's identity and confirm them on physical samples before ordering, because a blue on a screen and a blue on a facade at night are not the same thing. Branded schemes work best when they are used with restraint, for example your colour on the giant tree and warm white everywhere else, and we will say so if a scheme is heading toward looking like a sign.
What about safety, insurance and fire code for public displays?
Displays in public spaces are secured against tipping and wind, built with clear widths and exits agreed with your security or events team, kept clear of sprinklers, pull stations and storefront entrances, and lit with low-draw LED on timers. Our crews are insured and WSIB-compliant and we provide certificates of insurance on request. Queue fencing and photo podiums are placed so lines do not block egress. Any display damage during the season is fixed at no charge.
